Together with Greencycl, we have thoroughly reviewed and mapped out our processes, asking ourselves: What can be done differently, and what can be made greener? Our ultimate goal is to make conscious, responsible choices for our environment.

Who We Are & Our Green Mission
Haaglanden Clinics is an independent treatment clinic for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Plastic Surgery, and Sleep Medicine, located in The Hague. Ever since our clinic was founded, sustainability has been at the very top of our priority list. Today, we run an extensive sustainability program across all our operations.

Achieving Truly Circular Healthcare
Our partnership with Greencycl (www.GreenCycl.org) began at our inception, focusing on two key pillars:

Circular Instrument Management: Instruments that can no longer be repaired or used are recycled into brand-new, medically viable goods and instruments.

Medical Waste Recycling: We collect our (medical) waste so it can be melted down after use into high-quality raw materials. These materials are then repurposed to manufacture new products specifically for the medical sector.

That is how we truly make healthcare circular together!

Waste Separation: We also separate our residual waste, circulate waste streams, and have them collected and recycled by the respective suppliers. Digital First: The majority of our correspondence is handled digitally, and when physical copies are necessary, we use recycled stationery. Eco-Friendly Alternatives: Wherever possible, our single-use disposables have been replaced with sustainable materials. We are delighted to announce that we have been officially certified as a green organization for our sustainability initiatives.
